Twenty Rose Petals Fall - [Voice]
[It's never simple with the Malnosso. Never. You give, they take, it's common knowledge around these parts now. Expecting anything less is just asking for trouble. Perhaps that's why Dist happened to return from his mission in the midst of an experiment. Or maybe his luck really is as poor as he complains about. Take your pick.
Regardless, instead of a man casually returning to the village, a young and very nervous young boy is stuck wandering around the square. He...knows this place. He remembers it. The name isn't ringing any bells right away, but Saphir knows he's been here before, long ago. And he also remembers two very important things about his sudden surroundings:
The Professor is here, and there should be a book - a book he can talk into.
In no time, Saphir locates his journal and hesitantly opens it up. He fiddles with it and - due to his skill with mechanics - figures out how to turn on the audio as well as make a filter. He doesn't understand, though, when the filter breaks, and just talks regularly into the strange and fascinating little book.]
P-Professor? ...Professor Nebilim, are you here? I-I think...I'm lost...a-again. [He ducks his head, somewhat ashamed, and on the verge of a meltdown.] Can you come get me? I'm...I-I see the fountain. I can wait there. P-Please hurry...
[There's a lot of really weird stuff wandering around right now. Halp. ;A;]

[And he also looks very lost, and very upset.]
[Aaaaand he's also talking about Professor Nebilim. Was he one of the students in the school...? But how come he didn't know the Professor is gone?]
[Taking pity on him, Anise heads on over.]
Hey, what're you doing here all alone?
[Action]
I-I'm lost... [He looks away, embarrassed by the admittance.] I'm looking for the Professor, but she hasn't spoken to me, yet. It's been a long time since I used the book... I-Is there a school here? She may be teaching right now! She was my teacher back in Keterburg, so I bet she's a teacher here, too!
[Because the Professor is the best teacher ever. B|!]
[Action]
Yeah...but Professor Nebilim's not here any more.
[Action]
Wha...what do you mean? Of course she's still here! The Professor's still here! She wouldn't leave if I was here! She wouldn't!
[Action]
Sorry, but the Malnosso sent her back home. We were all shocked, but...She's gone now.
[At least this kid doesn't know that the Professor's being sent back home to nothing but death.]
[Action]
You're...no! No, you're lying! The Professor can't be gone, she can't! [He chokes, and begins to breathe a bit faster.] She wouldn't--they can't take the Professor away! It's not true!
[Action]
[Maybe giving the kid something else to focus on would stop him from crying...?]
[Action]
She...sh-she's my t-t-teacher! She taught m-me, and Jade, a-and Nephry... [He begins to stutter and rubs at his face again.] Wh-Why did they take her away?! It's not fair!
[Action]
Cheer up! Maybe she'll come back someday. Um, what's your name?
[Action]
S-Saphir...it's Saphir.
[Action]
Dist?!
[Action]
Wh-What's a Dist?
[Action]
[Action]
[Action]
[Could she be wrong...? But it's too coincidental. Dist liked Professor Nebilim a lot, didn't he?]
Umm...Listen. Do you have a place you can stay at?
[Nephry would know how to deal with this. Anise can just bring him to House One, then Nephry can deal with everything!]
[One foolproof plan, coming right up.]
[Action]
Saphir lowers his head a little bit, looking away and frowning. He droops his shoulders as well, and shakes his head no. He was hoping to stay with the professor, like he did before when he came to this stupid place, but if she wasn't here, then...he really had no where to turn to.]
N-Not really... I wanted to stay with the Professor, b-but...
[Action]
How about you stay with me? I know someone who's pretty good at taking care of people, and we've got a spare room!
[By "spare room" she means "room that belonged to your adult self".]
[C'mooonnnnn just agree already so she can foist you off onto Nephry. That way she won't have to deal with you and won't have to feel guilty for leaving you! And it's not like Nephry would be a miniscule fairy version of her normal self, right? SURELY NOT.]
[Action]
Though as intimidating, weird, and kinda scary as this girl is, he...really doesn't have much of a choice than to take her up on her offer. He'd rather stay at someone's house than out in the streets or something. God only knows what could come wandering by and pick him off. From what he's seen today, in just a few hours, he'd be eaten in no time.]
O-Okay...fine. If it's really okay with that person, then I-I guess I'll come along. [Even if he's not really sure about all this, and if he should be trusting someone he doesn't know. Still, manners--] Um, thank you.
[Action]
[But whoa wait a moment there - Dist said thanks?! Don't mind her little look of surprise.]
Uhhh, sure! Do you have anything you need to bring? We can get you some stuff at the store first.
[Action]
Okay, seriously? Has this girl never been thanked before in her life or something? Because her reaction is...well, pretty odd. It's kinda sad, though, if that's really the case. Whoever she hangs around with needs to learn some serious manners, and fast.]
Uh...I don't think I need anything. The book was all I really came with, and I don't have a lot of my stuff here, I-I think, so... [He's a little hungry and thirsty, but not that much, Saphir can wait if he has to.]
[Action]
Okay then! Let's go!
[Just...pretend to be your normal, cheerful self, Anise. No need to show the kid how agitated she is! Nephry can sort out everything.]
[Action]
Nodding, Saphir picks up his journal and tucks it under one arm before inching closer to Anise and waiting for her to lead the way. Really, he's not entirely sure about all this, but what other option does he have? Hopefully this kid's friend is nice like the Professor is...]
Yeah, o-okay. It's not too far, is it?
[Action]
[Seeing that the kid is ready, Anise starts walking.]
It'll only take a few minutes!
