[Written | Sept. 21ish]
Later, toward the evening, when the sun was casting a golden glow on the trees, Dist makes a message to the only person he knows that will be able to help with what he needs.]
Professor, I need to speak with you. As soon as possible, if you could. I have something very important I wish to discuss with you.
[Written | Sept. 21ish]
Of course, Saphir. Should I come to your house?
[Written | Sept. 21ish]
It'd be less of a burden if I were to converse with you elsewhere, actually. I hate to intrude, Professor, but may I meet you at your house instead?
[Written | Sept. 21ish]
Of course you may. My door is always open for you, Saphir.
[Written | Sept. 21ish]
Thank you, Professor. I'll be on my way immediately, and arrive in a short while.
[And with that, Dist sets his Journal away, gets ready, and heads out of house one without a word. The others should expect him to be doing his usual routine - library, smithy, and seventh heaven to practice his piano skills. They shouldn't question his whereabouts.]

[Voice | Action] - Backdated to Christmas Eve/Day
---
Understood. I'll be over as quickly as I can.
[And though he does hurry, Dist does as he had planned and gets some wine for Gelda and her husband to share for the holiday...as much as he tries to force the thought and image out of his mind.
It's only after he gets the wine that he begins to hurry once again, his breath coming out in little puffs. Rrgh...it's really times like these that Dist longs for his marvelous chair. It's such a bother to walk those long distances, especially in the cold. Of course, if it's to see the professor, then it's no bother to someone like Dist. Never ever.
He arrives within the hour, catches his breath some, and then knocks on the door.]
[Action] - Backdated to Christmas Eve/Day
By the time Dist knocks on her door, she's already put the kettle on the stove to get some water boiling for the tea. While the weather is like this, he'll likely appreciate something hot to drink only more. She answers the door with a kind smile, as always.]
Saphir. It's good to see you.
[Action] - Backdated to Christmas Eve/Day
Something hot would be much appreciated. Even with a longer, thicker coat for the cold, and new gloves, Dist is unaccustomed to the chill after living in Daath for so long. Of course, anything Gelda offers to him will be met with a smile of his own, and taken with courtesy.]
Likewise, Professor Nebilim, as always. [And he offers up the bottle to her. Or, well, the bag it's in.] I hope this isn't too much, but I thought you and your fiancée could enjoy something for the holiday.
[Action] - Christmas Day
[Okay, okay, Ion can get the hint. He'll tone it down a little. But it's not like he's forcing that smile of his, so it'll just stay on full-force. It may be the holiday tradition, yes, but that didn't make it any less thoughtful on Dist's part!]
Of course, of course... actually, I have something for you as well!
[Action] - Christmas Day
[Dist blinks several times, not believing what he just heard. Ion actually got him something in return? S-Sure, it wasn't all that strange given the boy's disposition, but still. He had not been anticipating anything in return.]
You needn't have done such a thing, Fon Master, I need nothing in return!
[Action] - Christmas Day
[He walks back to the table and sets down his book before resting a hand atop the wrapped gift that had been sitting there.] I hope you don't mind the wrapping. I've never actually tried wrapping gifts myself until this year, so it looks a bit strange, but...
[COME HERE AND OPEN IT.]
[Action] - Christmas Day
[Dist holds up a hand and shakes his head that it was fine as he approached the gift. It was a little embarrassing, and certainly strange, having Ion watch him with eagerness and excitement. He's...never really gotten a gift before. Not one he actually enjoyed, at least. Just what could Ion possibly get for him? To say he wasn't expecting something of the boy's particular interest would be a lie.
He stares at the gift for a moment before beginning to undo the wrappings with care. He doesn't want to destroy whatever was in there, even if he didn't like it. Ion was watching, after all, and...damn. He couldn't be snide or rude to him anymore. Rrrgh--]
[Action] - Christmas Day
[It's an old-fashioned radio/record player, full of all sorts of gears and knobs and turny thingies... that it, it would seem old-fashioned to someone not from that era. But since the Malnosso don't seem to have a particular era or world in mind for the things they bring? Why, this piece looks brand new!]
I found this in the shop a few weeks ago. It doesn't look like anything from Auldrant, so I thought you'd enjoy taking it apart and seeing how it worked. [And yes, he's been planning this for a while, hush.]

Written - Pen Pals?
[She pauses for a minute before deciding to not write "the Runny". Sure, it was how he was on the list, but it seemed rude.]
My name is Zelda. It seems that we've been paired up for this Hydra Social project. It is certainly a little awkward considering that we've never met, but I hope you don't mind too terribly. May I ask what your hobbies are? Perhaps we have something in common! I haven't had a chance to develop many side interests of my own, and I would love to hear about yours. I'll keep this short for now so I don't take up too much of your time.

Written - Pen Pals (oh jeez, I forgot about this entirely fffff. Go me)
With a frustrated noise, Dist picks up his pen and writes as neatly as he can, in the mood he was presently in.]
My apologies, Miss Zelda, but it seems you've written me under the impression I was involved with this so-called social project you spoke of. I cannot tell you how I was put into it, but I can honestly say I did nothing of the sort. This happens to be a rather unfortunate incident, and I apologize for your waste of time. [And his, but Dist thinks to not include that.]
I'm sorry to say, but I will not be taking part in this crude game with which I did not sign up for. You need not reply, if you so wish.
Regards,
Dist the Rose
Written - Pen Pals (it's ok! Do you feel like it OOC or not?)
I was signed up without my consent as well. It's worrisome, but it seems harmless compared to some of the other things that happen around Luceti. It's perfectly alright if you don't wish to participate.

Written - Pen Pals (oh, yes! It's just going to be hard to get him to participate...)
Odd, that, but you are correct in your wording that he seems harmless. For the moment, at least. I'll give it some thought, perhaps, whether I choose to participate or otherwise. [As little thought as possible.] Is that acceptable? I'd first like to look into this little social project and see for myself.
[Action] June 16th
[He'd been growing weaker for awhile now, but it was only now that he was starting to realize this wasn't a problem that was going to just go away. So many things kept happening, and it felt as though there was just no time in between it all to relax. His emotions were like a near-constant roller coaster lately, and now after what's happened between him and Anise...]
[It takes all he has just to sit up, his body and mind both aching to return to sleep even though by now it was nearly noon. And as much as he wanted to deny it and simply tell himself I'm used to this, I always get like this, he knows there's something different about it this time. There's something wrong, and ignoring the problem isn't going to make things any better.]
[It takes some effort, but eventually he's able to get up and ready for the day, already feeling a bit better while on his feet. But just because he feels a little better now doesn't mean he should put things off any more... which is why the first thing he does is head for Dist's room, hesitating only for a moment before knocking.]
[Action] June 16th
Hearing the knock, Dist lifts his head and sets aside his book, marking where he left off with a pencil. Finding Ion there when he opens the door isn't exactly a surprise, but what is shocking is how he looks. He was much paler than what was normal for the boy, and he seemed so tense and strained. It was definitely concerning, and Dist opens his door wide, so that Ion could come in.]
Fon Master, good afternoon. Please, come inside, you look...less than well, I could say. Sit down.
[Action] June 16th
Actually, that's what I came here to talk to you about. I didn't want to bother you, but I haven't been feeling very well. And it doesn't quite feel like a regular cold.
[Dist might be able to guess by now that generally "I didn't want to bother you" is Ion's way of saying "I should have come to you much sooner".]
[Action] June 16th
Heading towards his desk, Dist opens up a drawer and removes a stethoscope, cleaning the instrument with a dry cloth that was kept in the same place. After so long or caring for Ion's health, Dist thought to have such little tools handy around the house. He'd have to browse the clinic at some time, just to organize a very basic medical kit, or one for first aid.]
You know already, Fon Master, that it's never a bother to me when in regard to your health. I thought I had made myself clear when I instructed you to come to me the moment your health began to take a turn for the worse... [But that's then and this is now. Dist motions lazily for Ion to turn, and mutters that he remove a few layers of clothing from his torso. Dist needs to listen to his heart and lungs.] When did you begin feeling unwell? ...By which I mean unwell to the point of knowing it was more than your usual fatigue?
[Action] June 16th
To be honest, I'm not entirely sure when it started. I was sick for almost two weeks at the beginning of last month, and it feels as though I just never got over it. [A short, thoughtful pause.]
Although... I did have to use my fonic artes only just after I started feeling well again. I suppose that may have been when it started.
[But for Ion, that alone doesn't seem enough to cause him so much physical distress now, over a month later. Removing a curse slot was a fairly complicated arte, but he's used far stronger artes in the past and was only tired immediately after the fact!]
