One Rose Petal Falls - [Action | Accidental Voice]
[One of the newest arrivals finds himself laying face first on the cool forest floor, groaning. His body ached all over, but Dist was sure that came with being shot at by a monstrous replica. One that he himself had unleashed. Ugh, what an idiot he was, to let himself grow so desperate and crazed and release that thing, only to have it kill him in the end. That had broke much more than just a few ribs. ...Well, at least it's not raining.
The white haired man musters up all the strength he has remaining and pushes himself up into a kneeling position. He removes his broken glasses and 'tsks' at them. Useless... The glass was broken. Damn that...that impostor! Dist winces and massages his chest. Most of the pain was fading there, but, oddly, his back hurt the most.
Before inspecting why - he just tacked it on to being dead - he cranes his head up and looks around at the trees around him, scowling.]
Tsk, this isn't exactly what I had envisioned of Hell. Fire and brimstone and all that... Agh, damn this pai--[Dist hisses and recoils his hand quickly as it passes over his shoulder and brushed up against his wings. His eyes widen and a bitter smirk spreads on his lips as he looks over his shoulder and spies his wings.] Well, now. This certainly is a surprise. Someone's idea of a joke, perhaps, if even Hell won't take me.

[That honestly shouldn't sound so awkward. Dist fidgets and looks away, his hand subconsciously running to the back of his neck and rubbing there, as if he could feel the bar code.] So our being here holds no other purpose than to be experimented on By these Malnosso people? And no one has stood up to them? That's rather counter productive, if you ask me.
Action
It's not that we won't stand up, it's that we can't. A lot of abilities here seem to be weakened, and we live inside a barrier. There might be a bigger purpose we don't know about yet. A war is going on, and they're drafting some of the people here.
Action
[Oh, damn, that certainly killed his high. Dist huffs, and loses his enthusiastic demeanor rather quickly.] I see... That would put a damper on a rebellion, of course. But, depending on our numbers and the strength of the fighters among us, we may stand a chance. Of course, that all depends on if we have information of these Malnosso peoples' strength and if they have some kind of military force to aid them.
Action
I'm not really sure on most of it, truth be told. I'm not a fighter, or part of any military. I'm only a mechanic.
Action
...And what would that be?

except Gelda and maybe Nephry, but that'd just be too damn awkward and he can't stand Peony.Besides, Dist likes his privacy. Community building it is, then!]Can you direct me to a place where I can get a decent set of clothes, first? It's not exactly my preference to be dressed like...this.

Anyway, I specialize in metal prosthesis.
Action
[Okay, that definitely got his attention. Something like that has even been thought of in his world. As they reach the clothing shop, Dist absently holds the door open for her.] How...How does that work? I'd assume they function but--...could I possibly see some of your work at a later time? I'd have a better understanding if I saw it firsthand.
Action
There's three basic parts. The metal skeleton, the wires, and the outer plates. All which converge at the port. The port acts as a base in which the skeleton connects, and also works as an adapter. It converts the electrical signals from the brain into a type that the wires can use. This way the limb functions as if it were a flesh one!

He's 33.He blinks at her smile, and ducks his head. Don't think much of it, it was just how he was raised, okay?! He doesn't say anything, though, and enters after her, looking extremely interested by her words. Cue fanboy mode.] Astounding...! That kind of thing hasn't even been thought of back home--useful, practical...and surely quite beneficial. [He's almost forgotten that he was looking for his clothes, holding his chin in his hands as he thinks.] I'd love to see your work, if you'd allow me. I unfortunately don't have anything of my own to show here - though it'd be a simple task for someone like me to recreate, but I'm certain I could tell you a few things for the moment.Action

A prototype is fine! I'm sure I could learn a great deal from taking it apart! Ah--of course, if you'd permit, my dear. [He bows his head a little respectfully to her. He knows not to mess with another engineer's work without permission.] But of course~! My exceptional talents and genius in the fields of fontech are unmatched by anyone else! What would you like to know?
[But, before she can ask anything, Dist blinks and spots something familiar strewn in a heap of clothes by the corner. His coat! He excuses himself politely and goes over to grab it. Oh, thank Yulia! And his red undershirt and pants, too! Hm, his tie was missing, and his shoes weren't close by, either, but those weren't as huge a matter as everything else. And he was sure to find dress shoes in his size here, there were dozens.] I'm sorry...if you'll excuse me a moment to change. We can continue afterward, Winry.
[Brb, finding the nearest changing room and getting some proper clothes on.]

My apologies, I didn't mean to cut you off. I-I just...ah, i-it was rather impolite of me to be dressed in s-such a manner when conversing.

It's nothing you need to be concerned over. It will heal in time.
[Her concern bothers him, oddly. Dist's not used to many people actually showing concern for him, and he eyes her a little, before looking down and handing her the coat he was lent.]
