Five Rose Petals Fall - [Action | Voice]

[The journal's audio function clicks on to the sound of high pitched squealing, what sounds like hoofs rushing down a corridor, another set of human footfalls right behind, and a very irate and loud yelling.]

GET BACK HERE, YOU BLASTED SWINE!! UNHAND MY JOURNAL THIS INSTANT OR I'LL ROAST YOU, I SWEAR IT!

Peony! Peony, you stinking imbecile, keep your filthy little beasts out of my--

[The yelling stops abruptly as Dist hovers in the doorway of the now abandoned room, his journal being the only item to litter the bland, unnaturally clean floor. The sound of faint squealing under the bed from the "rappig" Dist had been chasing is the only sound for a few moments before very slow, drawn out footsteps approach the journal, and the piggy silences itself for fear of being found.]

You...! You witless freeloader... H-How dare you--! You couldn't wait until she got back?! Y-You heartless, dim witted--[Dist snatches up his journal and spits out angrily, not caring at all who hears, who responds. He's just too upset right now.] Emperor Peony IX of Malkuth has returned to Auldrant.

[And after that, he slams his journal shut and drops heavily onto the bed, glaring at the opposite wall, feeling a mixture of emotions and memories churning like an angry storm in his mind. He'll answer responses in a few hours, once he's calmed down.

So, just he, Nephry, and the Professor remained of those he shared his childhood with. People left, yes, but...somehow Dist had been hoping no one he knew would leave, especially those he was closest to. It was painful. Perhaps even more so, since Dist had to endure it once before. Even if it was Peony, the one he liked the least of anyone else, it...it was odd, and painful, to know he was gone. And this odd feeling only posed to frustrate Dist more.

He leaned forward, holding his head in his hands and growling at the throbbing headache that was threatening to come, not even finding the energy to kick the little pig that had curiously begun nosing his leg.]

[It takes another moment or two before Dist decides the best way to overcome this would be with voice, at the very lest. He should confront Gelda face to face, but he was still wary, especially now. But if the question he posed now was answered in a way he feared, then a meeting had to happen. He wasn't so cowardly to ignore the severity of this situation.]

I heard it said that I was here before, some time ago. I...I wanted to know. D-Did that other person--did I say anything? ...In regards to yourself, I-I mean. And Jade as well.

[She's quiet for a moment. There isn't much doubt Dist is referring to her death, and possibly what happened after that. While she was told quite the story from two different points of view, there's always that frightening notion in the back of her head that perhaps something more had been left out.]

I questioned both yourself and Jade about my death, along with how it related to fomicry.

[Well. This is both liberating and distressing to hear. Dist pushes up his glasses, an old habit to hide his face even though it wasn't showing, and debates questioning the matter further. He didn't know how much he or Jade would have told her - they never were the most honest of people - but this was the Professor. If she wanted answers, it was her right to know the truth.]

So...you know? [Every bit of those words comes with a shaky, apologetic tone. It got so out of hand, Professor.]

[She didn't blame Jade or Dist for what'd happened to her house. Jade hadn't meant any harm. His curiosity had simply gotten the better of him, just as she knew it would. As for the replica... If anything, she was disappointed. Disappointed that despite her warnings, her many attempts to stop Jade from playing with powers like that, he'd broken a taboo just for her. Not just Jade, but Dist as well.]

I know.

[She may not have blamed either of them, but they sure blamed themselves. Dist even went so far as blaming Jade for a large portion of what had happened. Her words come with a grain of salt, and Dist rubs his eyes painfully to keep them from watering. This was a horrible way to go about this, and he knew, but he had to take the opportunity, even if it wasn't in person. When he speaks again, Dist's voice cracks.]

Please forgive me, Professor... I-I only wanted--I just...[He puts a hand over his mouth, clenching his teeth together to keep from gasping.]
